How To Make Your Own Kid Vid Voice Module Cable

I hope that some of you will enjoy to know how to make your very own Kid Vid Voice Module Cable since there are some
collectors that has a K.V.V.M. but doesn't have the cable to connect the Voice Module to the Atari 2600 or 2600 clones.

It's when i found a K.V.V.M. (a second one in 15 years!!) not long ago, i asked the guy who was selling this if he had
the cable that goes with it, and his answer was "no". So after i was thinking if i would trade this, how the other person
will make it work ?

So came the idea to do a web page to how-to make a KV cable for anyone who wanted to replace or make a KV cable so they
can enjoy playing Smurfs Save the Day and Berenstain Bears. Oh and if anyone are looking for the Audio Tapes (any one of the
six tapes), check out this PAGE on AtariAge web site.

You can take any old cassette recorders to replace the K.V.V.M. that has a REMOTE (or REM) jack that usually is beside the
MICROPHONE (or MIC) jack. The K.V.V.M. was made by General Electric and i can't confirm if it's the 3-5005 model but if you
look closely at the next picture, it's pretty close to the K.V.V.M.

Ok now to get down to business:

Here's the schematic to make your own KV cable:

You'll need first a Atari 2600 Joystick (just the cable) and one audio cable with a plug 1/8 inch mono and another cable with a
plug 1/16 inch mono, a multi-meter to check the right connections because if you should invert the connection, it could damage
the tape player and/or the Atari 2600. Just follow the shematic to where to connect the 2 audio cable to the Atari 2600 cable
you took from a joystick.

Here's a Kid Vid cable i have made for my good friend Sandy Huner. I used a old microphone plug and an Atari 2600 Joystick
to make this cable, and it works great!

So before plugin the cable to the tape player and the Atari 2600, be sure to check if each cable are connected to the
right connector pins of the Atari 2600 cable. And if you need to know how the Kid Vid Voice Module works, i suggest to check
out the K.V.V.M. manual (manual.pdf) i have on my site. Good luck and good playing !
